Top 50 of 2022
This was by far the most daunting of my four lists I’ve assembled thus far. My Top 50 of 2019 was almost entirely comprised of my European living and travels, my Top 50 of 2020 was a more artistic approach to photography to stay busy in the pandemic- and my Top 50 of 2021 was the official launch of my professional career into photography. This year however, was a large combination of all three of those categories into one.
I continued to shoot for large brands, adding Adidas, Scotiabank, YETI and Subway into the mix to name just a few, to pair with engagements, creative projects and the continuation of being the main photographer for Toronto Police (also included producing drone footage for a law firm to be used in a court case to convict a murderer). I also found myself travelling to 5 new countries this year, all of which provided recreational and professional photography opportunities.
While the last 3 years have seen me take 18,000, 12,000 and 34,000 photos respectively, 2022 saw all those numbers combine into a whopping 60,000+ photos taken, spanning well in excess of 100 shoots throughout the year. Needless to say I was quite busy, and another thank you is needed to my friends and family who allowed me to cancel, reschedule and ignore plans in pursuit of doing the thing I love. I know it was frustrating at times, so thank you for only slightly holding it against me.
Just like every year it is important to note- by no means are these necessarily my best photos of 2022. These are the 50 photos from this year that stuck out to me the most, whether it be compositionally, for the opportunity to take it, or the moment forever associated with it. It’s near impossible to narrow down a mere 50 photos from 60,000, but I had to try.
So thank you, for what 2022 was, what 2023 promises to be, and to all I’ll share this list with in a years’ time.
And also, to the 50 photos yet to come.

Did you scroll past them all to #1? Meticulously examine each one to pick your favourite? Or take a leisurely scroll through? Regardless, from the depths of my heart- thank you. For humouring my creative eye, and hopefully seeing a picture or two that made you stop and stare, if even for a moment. I can never repay the gratitude I feel knowing you went through the images above, so all I can really say, is thank you.
